About

Hi, I'm Damon. The artist behind SheeleyCo.

I’m a Portland based illustrator who spent most of his adult life in the safe lane. I was holding down a dependable day job with late-night creative projects and a growing sense that I was meant to be doing something more. When I entered my 40's, I finally took the leap and left the 9-to-5 behind and put all of my energy into the thing that’s kept me going since I was a kid; making art.

SheeleyCo is the result of that leap. It’s where nostalgia, nature, humor, the cosmos and a touch of existential weirdness all come together. My work is inspired by old ephemera, 1960s-80s design and typography and quiet moments of reflection. It’s also built on a foundation of hope, imperfection, and connection. Whether it’s a sticker, a print, or a wearable reminder that being human is weird and hard and beautiful, I try to make things that help people feel a little more seen and help to normalize a lot of the feelings and mental issues we face on a daily basis.

Everything I design is created with intention, from the linework to the paper stock, and every product is designed in my small studio here in Portland. I’m grateful every day that I get to do this for a living and if my work has made you pause, laugh, or feel a little less alone, then I’m doing something right.st.
